Poised to protect, Saint Nicholas calms the frightened children, shielding them from the hideous Krampus who lurks in the background.
I went for a more old fashioned look for St. Nicholas with his bishop attire as opposed to the Father Christmas or Santa Clause approach. For Krampus, I opted for less of a goat-monster appearance, rather leaning towards the costumes worn in Europe for the krampuslauf or Krampus runs. They are quite intimidating!
